UNITY | 20" x 24" x 1.5" acrylic and pencil on gallery profile splined canvas.
A variation on the Moultrie flag designed by Colonel William Moultrie in 1775, flown to mark a key victory against the British navy in the American Revolutionary War. The original flag bears the word “LIBERTY” on the crescent in the upper left corner. In our current political climate, we ask: should personal liberty prevail over unity? Can any country or entity that values personal liberty over anything else remain cohesive and united?
This piece is a collaboration between Zoya Dixon and Sam Lopata.
This piece is currently up at MYLR Gallery in San Luis Obispo.
Packing and shipping fee $60 | $30 local delivery from Paso Robles to San Luis Obispo.
